Wal-Mart Fires Worker w/Cancer For Medical Marijuana Use Posted: 17 Mar 2010 03:30 PM PDT Supporters of marijuana law reform are rallying behind a 29-year-old man, a cancer sufferer and registered medical marijuana user who was fired from his job at Wal-Mart. The worker, who had worked at the store for five years and in 2008 was named Associate of the Year, tested positive for marijuana during a worker's compensation screening. |

Pot Postal Shipments on the Rise Posted: 17 Mar 2010 03:00 PM PDT Marijuana traffickers are taking advantage of our national postal service like never before, according to new statistics from the U.S. Postal Inspection Service... The agency, which handles everything from mail fraud to parcel theft, reported a 400 percent increase in seizures of marijuana packages between 2007 and 2009. |

Posted: 17 Mar 2010 01:30 PM PDT I can't make heads or tails of the various whip counts floating around. Friends who report on politics assure me that Nancy Pelosi still has plenty of leverage to twist arms . . . but what? It doesn't seem all that likely that Ms. Pelosi is going to be in charge after November, so what exactly does she have to hand out to wavering members? |
The New IE9: More HTML5, CSS3, and No Windows XP Posted: 17 Mar 2010 01:10 PM PDT Today, Microsoft released the developer preview of Internet Explorer 9. The preview is bare-bones: after playing around with it, I can tell you that it doesn't have much in terms of user interface. This is more of a proof-of-concept than a web browser. Still, it provides a good glimpse into what we can expect from IE9: a complete reboot. |
