Posted: 23 Aug 2008 08:50 PM CDT

A little while back I linked to Sahotra Sarkar's review of Steve Fuller's Science versus Religion. Now Fuller has put up a defence at the Intelligent Design website, Uncommon Descent, under the gerrymandered image of a bacterial flagellum (if you want to know what a real flagellum would look like at that scale, see this).

A movie about a Playboy bunny: good. A PG-13 rating: bad. Anna Faris as said Playboy bunny: good. Overblown collagen lip injections: bad.

Posted: 23 Aug 2008 07:10 PM CDT

Major League Baseball had a significant opportunity to market the game via the Beijing Olympics, but by allowing a U.S. roster comprised of a mix of prospects and older fringe big leaguers, MLB has foregone that opportunity and likely sealed the sport's fate as an Olympic event.

Is the Earth Quarantined???

Posted: 23 Aug 2008 06:50 PM CDT

Why haven't we met aliens yet? And why aren't we sending rockets all over the solar system? There is only one plausible explanation. Earth is being quarantined!
