Consumer Reports contradicted itself on Friday with a new update saying it wouldn't give a recommendation for the Verizon iPhone 4. The magazine said it still saw the signal drop sharply when covering the bottom-left antenna gap, bridging the antennas and lowering the signal. Calls started dropping or wouldn't start at the very fringe of the signal where other Verizon phones, such as the Droid 2 Global and Fascinate, still held out.
