Posted: 02 Jun 2009 03:20 PM PDT The UFC prides itself on real fighting, but that doesn't mean that the mixed martial arts organization isn't in a constant search for characters. That's why UFC president Dana White buckled and gave Kimbo Slice a chance to associate himself with White's organization as part of a deal that will put him on Season 10 of Spike's Ultimate Fighter. |

Posted: 02 Jun 2009 02:10 PM PDT Behind every criminal computer hack there is a two-step process: gain trust, then exploit that trust with an attack. So far, the consequences have been relatively mild -- mostly, some annoying emails. But if Facebook and other social networking sites don't get a handle on security issues soon, a serious outbreak could occur. |

Lithuanian Baby Racing Champion Mired In Laptop Scandal Posted: 02 Jun 2009 12:40 PM PDT Kajus Aukščionis is quite possibly the fastest baby in the world. Sure, he's been training since he was five months old, but his real secret is much closer to our hearts. He loves laptops. There's a lot to think about here. What are the mechanics of a baby race? Are people betting on this? Or, most directly: What the hell, Lithuania? |
After a 400 Years Absence U.K. Gets Some Beavers [+vid] Posted: 02 Jun 2009 12:30 PM PDT After 400 years beavers are once again gnawing at British branches. But because hunting made native beavers regionally extinct, the new generation had to be shipped in from Norway. The Norwegian beavers were chosen because they are considered to be the closest type to the beavers which existed in 16th century Britain. |
Hugo Boss Made Nazi Uniforms Using Concentration Camp Labor Posted: 02 Jun 2009 12:30 PM PDT Hugo Boss, who died in 1948, founded his family-owned garment business in 1923. The company struggled for a time, fell into bankruptcy, and then, during the war, made the uniforms worn by the German SS, storm troopers, Wehrmacht and Hitler Youth. It is believed that the factory was manned by forced labor, including concentration camp prisoners. |
The Name's Bondsicle. Grape Bondsicle. Posted: 02 Jun 2009 12:10 PM PDT Behold Del Monte's delicious new frozen dessert, in the shape of Daniel Craig emerging from the surf in Casino Royale. I'd ask that you kindly refrain from making untoward remarks about the placement of that wooden stick, and simply enjoy this frozen, washboarded treat. It kind of reminds me of Han Solo in carbonite — but edible, so even better! |
