America's Best Selling Car: The Little Tikes Cozy Coupe Posted: 07 Jun 2009 05:40 PM PDT A classic toy car is being inducted into an auto museum in Cleveland - and it outsold every other car in the U.S. in 2008. The Cozy Coupe, a plastic cherry-red sports car, allows toddlers to sit on a bench-style seat and poke their legs through to the ground. The Cozy Coupe sold 457,000 units in 2008, topping the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord. |

Rogers Knocks Out Arlovski in 22 Seconds Posted: 07 Jun 2009 05:10 PM PDT There is not much to say about Brett Rogers' 0:22 KO of Andrei Arlovski. Rogers moved in just seconds after the bell, unloaded a bevy of punches onto Arlovski, and the former UFC champ was down on the ground. Every one of Rogers' punches connected, rocking Arlovski's head back and forth until he succumbed. |

15 TV Characters That Disappeared Without Explanation Posted: 07 Jun 2009 03:40 PM PDT It is not common for a television character to mysteriously disappear, never to be heard from again. We're not talking about characters being written out of shows like 87 cast members from "ER" or when Jonathan Taylor Thomas left "Home Improvement". What we are talking about are the mysterious disappearances that are never really referenced again. |

Revealed: Why curve balls are so hard to hit Posted: 07 Jun 2009 10:40 AM PDT AN ANIMATION that sheds light on why a type of baseball pitch called a "curve ball" fools batters has been voted Visual Illusion of the Year. One of the weapons in a pitcher's armoury is to give the ball a spin that causes its trajectory to curve. Batters see the ball as if it is going straight and then changes direction making it hard to hit. |

Longstanding volcanic mystery solved Posted: 07 Jun 2009 04:30 AM PDT For decades, geologists have been puzzled by the mechanisms that give rise to the kind of volcanoes that form the so-called "ring of fire" around the Pacific Ocean. These arc volcanoes, which account for about 10 to 25 percent of all volcanoes, are produced when one of the plates that make up Earth's crust plunges beneath another plate. |
