Most Women Won't Marry an Unemployed Man Posted: Men, take some advice from ForbesWoman and YourTango.com. If you want to find Mrs. Right, don't bother looking until you have a job. Mobster 'Whitey' Bulger arrested Posted: James Whitey Bulger, a notorious Boston gangster on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted list for his alleged role in 19 murders, was captured. |
APOD: 2011 June 23 - Stereo Helene Posted: Explanation: Get out your red/blue glasses and float next to Helene, small, icy moon of Saturn. Appropriately named, Helene is one of four known Trojan moons, so called because it orbits at a Lagrange point. A Lagrange point is a gravitationally stable position near two massive bodies, in this case Saturn and larger moon Dione. In fact, irregularly shaped ( about 36 by 32 by 30 kilometers) Helene orbits at Dione's leading Lagrange point while brotherly ice moon Polydeuces follows at Dione's trailing Lagrange point. The sharp stereo anaglyph was constructed from two Cassini images (N00172886, N00172892) captured during the recent close flyby. It shows part of the Saturn-facing hemisphere of Helene mottled with craters and gully-like features. |
Do-Not-Track Bill Would Impose New Age Verification Regulations To Websites And Mobile Apps Posted: Two new "do-not-track" privacy bills would impose new restraints on online tracking, behavioral marketing, and the use of mobile application and geolocation data. Using the political hook of protecting children, the bill proposes to convert COPPA into a framework extending to online and mobile apps, and to tracking and marketing to all those under 18—in the process imposing age verification requirements and other processes that may redefine the apps and mobile experience for all users. |
Scientists Warn Chemicals May Be Altering Breast Development Posted: Although many experts have long debated the role of the environment in breast cancer, the possibility that chemicals are changing how and when breasts develop is a relatively new concern for scientists. |
FBI targets 'scareware' sellers Posted: A gang that made more than $72m (£45m) peddling fake security software has been shut down in a series of raids. |
Why Environmental Red Tape Can Be Good For Business Posted: Michele Bachman's attack on the EPA is not just an isolated example of environmentalism-as-the-enemy rhetoric from the right. In England too, where the Conservative-Liberal coalition government pledged to be the "greenest government ever", is showing cracks of discontentment as Chris Huhne, the Liberal environment minister, lashes out at Conservative efforts to attack "environmental red tape". |
How to Recycle Your Gadgets and Game Consoles Posted: Safely and properly e-cycling your old, unused consoles, smartphones, tablets, and laptops is easier than you think, and you can actually save money. |

Birds' eye view is far more colorful than our own Posted: The brilliant colors of birds have inspired poets and nature lovers, but researchers at Yale University and the University of Cambridge say these existing hues represent only a fraction of what birds are capable of seeing. |
File-Hoster Returns With Guns Blazing After Police Raids Posted: Two weeks ago raids and arrests in several European countries took out several prominent websites. Aside from the main target, movie streaming links portal Kino.to, the raids also affected several file-hosting sites including Duckload.com. Despite taking a big hit Duckload is not giving up. Instead, the site has respawned with a full-blown movie streaming site that's already generating millions of page views a day. |
5 Ways to Break Up with Your Girlfriend Without Hurting Her Feelings Posted: Breaking up with someone is the worst. They get all sad and start crying. Then they're like, "But I thought you loved me." Awkward! Who wants to deal with that? Not me. |
Paging Uwe Boll: Video Game Characters Who Need Their Own Movies Posted: Actually, if Uwe Boll could conveniently be off-planet while these movies are being made, that would be great. |
