Lou Holtz Considering Running for Congress Posted: 04 Aug 2009 04:20 PM PDT The famed skipper and ESPN analyst met with top Republicans in Central Florida last week and said he was interested in challenging first-term U.S. Rep. Suzanne Kosmas, D- New Smyrna Beach, according to four GOP officials who did not speak on-the-record because they don't know if Holtz actually will run. |

Tucker Max's "I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell" Trailer Posted: 04 Aug 2009 03:40 PM PDT The first trailer for the movie version of Tucker Max's I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell has hit the web. Tucker Max co-wrote the adaptation of his own book, in which the main character is Tucker Max, and this is one of the shots of him. I desperately hope there's something tongue in cheek about that. |
Keith Olbermann Exposes Congressional Opponents of UHC Posted: 04 Aug 2009 03:20 PM PDT We've just received an advance transcript of tonight's Special Comment by Keith Olbermann on his MSNBC show. It is nothing short of brilliant -- and if all of America were to hear what he is going to reveal tonight, we are certain the vast majority of Americans would be on the phone to their elected representative immediately, calling for an end... |

The Ares I-X is set for an October 31 test flight, but along with the entire next-generation NASA Constellation program, its future is uncertain. The Human Spaceflight Review, initiated by the Obama administration... |

'G.I. Joe' Won't Be Screened by Critics Posted: 04 Aug 2009 01:40 PM PDT "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra" opens Friday, but Paramount Pictures isn't screening the blockbuster for critics beforehand. Only a select few writers from blogs and movie Web sites have seen it for review -- like Harry Knowles, the self-professed "Head Geek" from Ain't It Cool News -- and their opinions have been mostly positive. |
6 Degrees of Nolan Ryan: Science Ranks Baseball Greats Posted: 04 Aug 2009 01:30 PM PDT Arguing over who's the better player is as much a pastime as baseball itself. Pedro Martinez or Sandy Koufax? Barry Bonds or Mickey Mantle? Of course it's impossible to say. You can't compare players from different eras. Heck, it's hard enough to compare them between teams, in the same season. But that doesn't stop stat junkies from trying. |

The 100 Greatest Sci-Fi Movies Posted: 04 Aug 2009 01:30 PM PDT The movies on this list are a good indicator of just how diverse the science fiction genre is. From the epic philosophical ideas of 2001: A Space Odyssey and Solaris to the joyful space opera of Star Wars and Flash Gordon, the films here are linked by their ability to explore time and space with imagination, flair and audacity. |
