The Brady Campaign is very upset that the House Judiciary Committee voted (by a nearly two to one margin) last week against amending the offensively misnamed "Patriot Act." The proposed amendment, filed by Congressman Mike Quigley (D-IL), would have even more egregiously defiled the concept of patriotism, in that the law would now authorize the trampling of the right to keep and bear arms without a conviction, an indictment, or even an arrest or formal charges.
